Some countries are well known for their self-adhesive stamps, examples are Sierra Leone and Tonga, who have
both used shaped, self-adhesive stamps for decades. In Europe and the U.S., self-adhesive stamps were introduced in the late eighties, especially in booklets. Australia was the first country to depict prehistoric animals on self-adhesive stamps in 1993. A set and miniature sheet were issued, the two letter-rate 45 cent stamps were issued both in coils and in stamp booklets. |
